Important Information for Students and Parents

Get Ready

  • Wear comfortable clothing. Make sure students can stretch and move freely.
  • Eat at least one hour before class. It’s no fun to exercise on a full stomach, or an empty one.
  • Notify staff of any allergies. We use lavender and chamomile lotions during our foot massages. Please let us know if your child has sensitive skin.
  • Not feeling well? Help us maintain a healthy environment. Our instructors will not teach classes if they are sick. Please do not bring students to class if they are not well. Children must be fever-free for 24 hours before returning to the studio.
  • Want to bring a sibling or friend to class? Please call first (301-951-9642) to make sure space is available. Drop-ins must sign a waiver and pay a $15 fee.

Arrive on Time

  • Plan to arrive 5 minutes before class is scheduled to begin. Students need time to sign in, remove their shoes, use the bathrooms, and find their yoga mats.
  • Parking is easy. The Elm Street parking garage is just around the corner on Auburn Street.
  • Sign in at the front desk.
  • Get comfortable. Remove shoes and coats. Cubbies are available to store students’ personal items. Be sure to use the bathroom before finding your yoga mat.
  • Latecomers should enter quietly, take off their shoes and find a yoga mat.

Enjoy Your Class!

  • Family and parent/child classes require full parental participation.
  • Parents are welcome to wait in the lounge. Please try not to disrupt the class.
  • No cell phones, food or shoes are allowed in the studio. Please turn off cell phone ringers, even when you are in the lounge.

When Class is Over

  • Silence is golden. We end each Yoga Tales session with a quiet narration by the teacher. When picking up children, please enter the studio quietly and wait in the lounge until class is over.
  • Water, tea and healthy snacks are available for students and parents.
  • All props and mats are cleaned and disinfected on a regular basis.
